Single-case agreements for out-of-network residential care

A single-case agreement is a written, one-stay deal between an insurer and an out-of-network licensed program. It may name a rate and a day count. It is not a right, and it is not the same as being in network next year. This page explains the label. It is not a negotiation desk.

When families hear the phrase

Usually after the plan says the needed level is not available in network within a workable distance, or after a specialty need is documented. The plan can still name an in-network alternative. Network basics: in vs out of network.
