After the stay
When the first outpatient slot is missed
Call the clinic on the aftercare paper the same day. Ask for the next dated opening and write it down. A missed first slot is not, by itself, a new residential admission. If danger appears — overdose, violence, a plan to die — use 911 or 988 first. This page is a question list. It is not a booking desk.

Same-day steps
- Use the facility-owned number on the aftercare plan. See first outpatient appointment.
- Ask who may be told if a release is on file. See HIPAA and family authorization.
- Keep medicines in original bottles for the new visit. See medicines at discharge.
If no one answers
Leave a dated message and try once more the next business morning. Do not wait on a rented line from an old admissions flyer. If use has resumed and safety is in doubt, see relapse after discharge.
What this page does not do
It does not hold a calendar. Confirm the next slot with the licensed clinic. Look other programs up on FindTreatment.gov.
